With just under a month to go until the general and local elections on Thursday 6 May, Barking & Dagenham UAF is ramping up its campaign against the Nazi BNP. Our next day of action will be on Sunday 11 April. Meet at 11am at Jazzie Jake, North Street, Barking IG11 8AW. The nearest station is Barking: see map.
We will be canvassing and leafleting wards to spread the word about how to stop the BNP. Lunch will be from 1:30pm onwards and includes speeches and performances by local young people.
The PCS civil service workers union is helping sponsor this day of action. Call 07969 630056, or email bardagunite@gmail.com to find out more.
• There will be also an anti-BNP meeting in Barking on Sunday evening organised by the RMT rail workers union. It’s at 6:30pm at Barking Broadway Theatre, with speakers including Weyman Bennett (UAF), Bob Crow (RMT), Barking-born singer-songwriter Billy Bragg and footballer John Terry.
